I'll be doing a writeup of this past weekend sometime this week. The rally was a killer time and I got some awesome pictures. Here's a few to hold you guys over until I can post them all!

Cool. Did you have issues getting around down there? Weather was strange, I'm glad I didn't have to go anywhere this weekend.

Also did you get that $25 v8 third motor? I see it's been deleted.

No issues until yesterday afternoon. I was out by stage 14 and the snow was coming down hard. About 4+ inches on the back dirt roads. A few dinguses hit the ditch cause they were driving too fast and that caused a huge backup. Once I got to the main highways things were ok for me. My Subaru was perfect for the weather down there. Pretty much everyone without AWD or 4WD was getting stuck or crashing. I actually left the stage early to avoid the imminent cluster fuck.

I'm pretty confident that I'll volunteer next year. It would be cool to see things from the other side!

And holy shit that picture is close! How did you get that close?? It seems like they were keeping spectators pretty far back because of icy and snow packed roads.

Oh it got better. I was working that stage...a jeep said "fuck you" to our finish workers and drove the opposite direction of the stage...ended up red flagging the stage and basically ending the rally...

What time did they start that stage? I know it was supposed to be at 2:20 but I left at 4:20ish and they still hasn't started unfortunately.

Instead of being snowed on at that rally, I was kneeling in my shower tiling. And cursing my pulled hamstring while I did it.

First car came at like 5:30....I was standing out in the cold, alone, for 3.5 hours waiting for something to happen... got to the stage at 1, left at 8:30....

My STi was running summer tires and the whole route up there was getting tons of snow and ice anyway. But I will certainly be more attentive to the schedule next time.

The roads were a disaster scene Saturday afternoon so you definitely dodged a bullet if you had been running summers. I saw more wrecks than I could even count.

Roads were so bad that it took me four hours to travel 30 miles from Salem to Rolla.

Thanks! It was cool meeting you even for a brief moment haha its always nice to put a face to a name. Its all good though. I was moving all over the place trying to get good shots and just talking with drivers and what not.

I'm sure we'll cross paths again at some point and when we do, let's get a beer. It'll be on me!

I can't even imagine. Until next month I have been able to walk to work so I didn't have to put up with the interstates here, but I heard they were littered with spun out cars. The interstates are mostly raised off the ground and use more concrete based surfaces so the ice just runs rampant. Everyone I talk to spent hours and hours stuck.
